    What You'll Do:
    • Collaborate with engineering project managers to assist in developing engineering designs for streets, drainage, sanitary sewer, and water infrastructure projects
    • Process survey data from the field to create detailed topographic surveys and draft layouts for infrastructure projects
    • Provide detailed plats, right of way strip maps, and plot plans

    What We're Looking For:
    We're seeking motivated individuals who are eager to grow and make a difference. The candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and have a valid driver’s license.
    • Educational or professional experience with computer aided drafting and engineering designs
    • Familiarity with Autodesk products – particularly Civil 3D
    • Minimum 1 year experience

    We are looking for a team player to provide quality and efficient maintenance support for all the feedlot steel structures and water systems.

    This person will be responsible for:
    - Ensuring safety is a priority for oneself, as well as all employees. Supporting the Adams Land & Cattle Safety Program and exemplifying safety expectations.
    - Maintaining the feedlot's infrastructure to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment that supports the health, welfare, comfort, and proper containment of cattle.
    - Performing upkeep, including preventive and corrective maintenance of feedlot fences, uprights, neck rails, and bunk cables, as well as facilities (e.g. processing barns, hospitals, feed mill).
    - Maintaining and repairing water tanks and main lines.
    - Welding to complete repairs.
    - Upkeeping grounds (e.g. mowing/weed control).
    - Safely operating equipment, such as skid steer, forklift, tractor, backhoe, mini excavator, etc.

    Position Summary:
    This Construction Inspector Trainee position is the entry level for the Engineering Technician class series and is in Marion, KS. Successful candidates may be appointed at a higher-level dependent upon experience and qualifications. This position allows KDOT to train and develop construction (or technician) staff to complete required responsibilities. The employee performs assignments and gains experience while in training status.
    NOTE: The employee in this position must also maintain Certified Inspection certifications under the KDOT CIT Program as outlined in the Engineering Technician Progression Manual for the specific job path and any additional as outlined by the Senior Manager.

    Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
    • This position will assist in administering construction contracts ensuring work is performed per legal requirements and preferred quality is achieved. This will require performing according to specific instruction and standards.
    • Work involves performing several basic engineering and mathematical procedures which require following instructions and guidelines and providing accurate and complete records of that work.
    • Performs or assists other technicians or engineers in the performance of routine engineering tests in the laboratory or field or inspection on construction projects for compliance with standard practice, specifications, plans, and special provisions. This includes such things as performing or assisting in testing gradation of aggregates and other standard tests.
    • Operates snowplow trucks (Class B CDL required) to fill-in at various locations, as needed.

    Qualifications:
    • Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment.
